Welcome
to my first post! I've recently decided to pick up a new hobby. Well, I
actually decided to pick it up a couple months ago but I didn't get very far
because I was broke AF and couldn't afford any supplies!
Anyway,
the hobby I'm talking about today is hand lettering. You may have seen pictures
of this phenomenon around on Instagram or Tumblr and they look absolutely
stunning!
I've
always been interested in typography and I guess hand lettering (before I knew
what that even was) ever since I was young. My revision notes and gift tags and
anything that I could write was always done in nice fonts and well designed and
they would make all the other kids in my class jealous. But alas, I have lost
that talent since I finished university last year as I don't need to write by
hand very much in my job or in every day life.
When I
discovered hand lettering as a hobby, it was like the younger version of me had
been awakened again and there was a whole world of this kind of stuff! It's
great and I'm loving every minute of it!
Anyway,
this blog right here will be used to document my journey with hand lettering
and brush lettering and to keep a portfolio of my designs and work etc. I hope to post fairly reguarly, but lets see how it goes!
